Muscle Balancing "Try Me Before You Try Surgery!" |
My Philosophy
I’m a chiropractor who believes that your bones and joints become misaligned due to tight muscles. Muscles allow you to move your bones. If the muscle attached to a particular bone is tight (shortened in length), it can physically pull the bone out of its intended anatomical position. When the bones are misaligned, pain is a common symptom. I lengthen the muscle using a deep muscle therapy (Precision Muscle Balancing). This therapy removes scar tissue from the injured muscle; which lengthens the muscle and allows the bone to return to its normal anatomical position. I treat the cause, not the symptom.
My treatment philosophy is easily understood and makes sense. As I tell my patients, your bones don’t have brains and just decide to move out of alignment all by themselves for no reason. Something must physically pull the bones out of alignment. That something is a tight/shortened muscle attached to that bone. It is a pretty basic concept that most medical practitioners and therapists seem to overlook.
Some patients tell me they feel really tight and stiff when they wake up. Then they take a hot shower and feel looser with more range of motion. The hot shower did not loosen the bones; it lengthened the muscle fibers. The lengthened muscles allow the bones to realign closer to their intended anatomical position. One problem with a hot shower is that it only provides temporary relief. As the muscles cool back down, they become tight again. Also, heat can cause more pain by increasing the inflammation. Ice decreases inflammation.
